My Passion for Homeopathy

Homeopathy in Bridport has been set up because of my enthusiasm for living in balance with Nature’s provision. My belief and experience show me that the natural world and through homeopathy offers us health and wellbeing. With a tailored homeopathic remedy, through a gentle yet profound prompting of the body’s own internal bio-mechanisms you may gain an improved health. Together with you taking responsibility for active participation in the process, my aim through homeopathic remedies is to encourage and maintain balance in your body. Your body will be more effective in self-repair processes. My commitment is to support you to build your immune system’s defense to set up active engagement against illness and disease. My Journey of Faith

In my mid-20's I had a personal crisis, and while this was traumatic at the time, it has had a profound and hugely beneficial impact upon my life in that I became a Christian.  Nowadays, it can be hard confessing to being a Christian, the world seems out of focus for belief in the sustaining power of God and His/Her abiding and creative presence. To this day my Faith means that I am secure in love and am valued for myself, as I am.  It also enables me to accept who other people are, with or without a spiritual belief, and it's great to meet people from all walks of life.

From my late 20’s I worked for several years in the Voluntary sector. First for a major overseas Charity in Bristol, then for a Crisis and Counselling Service for Young People in the Bath & North East Somerset region. For 15 years I worked part-time in Children’s Social Care as a support for children and young people. In this sector my specialisms were: accessing emotions, the effects of parental relationship breakdown, issues of attachment, keep safe work and bereavement support. I am trained and experienced in working with people going through emotional crisis.

My working life from my late-20’s was focused on helping others through a social care context, and I never had much spare money. Even had I seriously considered it, I certainly did not have enough money to train as a Homeopath. When my mother died in 2013 I was able to use her generous inheritance to first go on a Day Course near Bristol, and then with much excitement to sign up to Homeopathy college in that same year. I had found what I had been searching for all those years. Having lived in Bath for nearly 25 years, from June 2021 I am in Bridport, and really looking forward to enjoying working with people in the locality.

Classical Homeopathy Training

To train as a Classical Homeopath over 4 years at The Contemporary College of Homeopathy in Bristol was a truly life-affirming experience. The process helped me better understand myself and my relationship to the natural world. It trained me to recognise and treat a vast range of symptoms and illnesses. My on-going homeopathic Practice provides me with much interest, learning and development – which will never end. Understanding and working in Homeopathy is life-long.

For my continuing professional development I access Clinic practices and Webinars, peer group discussions and forums.  My Registration as a Homeopath is with The Society of Homeopaths.I am a member of several professional homeopathic organisations to regularly update my skills and clinic practice. I really enjoy the continued learning this offers as well as the social experience of integrating within the world of Homeopathy.

My yearly visits over 5 years to George Vithoulkas’ International Academy of Classical Homeopathy in Greece (IACH) to sit in on his Clinic are a highlight of my year. George Vithoulkas, winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize 1996, is a leading international authority on Homeopathy. Over the two years of the covid pandemic, instead of visiting the IACH in Greece I attended the IACH weekend Webinar in the UK each July, and I update on their computer programmes. During 2022 I have attended all 3 Weekend Webinars on Hahnemann, Auto Immune Disease and Classical Homeopathy for Children.

I use complementary Bach Flower Remedies alongside my homeopathy.

My Homeopathic Family Heritage

My Grandmother was a well-respected Homeopath and Bach Flower remedy practitioner in the 1960’s and 70’s. While growing up at home we all used homeopathic remedies in our family, for friends, and our pets. This natural medicine was our first go-to for health problems. For me as a child this included violent car-sickness, fevers, tonsillitis, minor first-aid injuries. And at age 14 I had a difficult and lengthy period, much of it in bed, of a debilitating glandular fever. Later on as an adult, I’ve been receiving treatment from my own homeopath for most of my life. Such self-care is absolutely essential, and especially so when looking after other people.

In choosing to work as a Homeopath, it feels right for me to bring together this family connection in homeopathic health with my own experience and interests in the natural world. All in all, my understanding of people gained in a social context combines with an on-going respect for the body’s innate intelligence in its ability to heal itself. Altogether I continue amazed how Homeopathy transforms human illness and disease through its own internal systems for health regulation.

An individualized approach to Homeopathy

While it is offered on the NHS in certain parts of the country, homeopathy is used most often in a private homeopathic practice. This means that there is enough time and space to disclose the full picture of what is happening for you.

As a Homeopath my approach includes an individualized homeopathic assessment. The personal rapport established between us is a key part of the success of homeopathy.

Over the years, my clients have written about our consultations together and their personal journeys with Homeopathy.  I am pleased to have permission to publish some of these ‘homeopathy testimonials’. I hope these give you an insight into receiving homeopathy from me but also homeopathy itself.

For example: “Homeopathy with Clare helped me by asking the questions I needed to know to help myself understand my body. Making me feel more content with myself.” – M.H, Somerset
